Monstrosity
"Being an abomination is mortal sin."
The deafening noise of barkers calling for passengers, merchants doing aggressive selling to anyone passing by their stall, telephone calls of office workers running late and vehicles honking filled the busy streets of metropolitan. The air was filled with smoke, dust and fumes. Everyone is rushing but, running out of time was not an appropriate term. For it was rather running out of space, out of places, out of positions in a tiny and narrow spot at the top of societal pyramid.
Like bloodthirsty lone predators fighting for one tasty prey, they are willing to rip each other's throat just to get the most precious part of the meal. Everyday was brutal fight for pride, money and influence. It wasn't an armaggedon but, a battle between the fiercest demons. The most evil of them all, takes it all. It was the devil's heaven for unlike in hell, here, they don't perish. They are the rulers and those who offended them shall suffer.
They train their every descendants to be like them. At a very young age they were exposed fire of high expectations, dark basement of reality and were made to suffer under black ink of ignorant adults. They were taught to believe what is being fed to them and forced to remove their eyes and tounge for it is the root of evil. They are told stories of horrfying deaths of people who refused to surrender their voices --- that each fist raised against their heroes are faced with unimaginable punishments.
And for an innocent youth whose eyes are just being able to see for the first time and had just been able to speak her first for words, everything is a torture. A suffocating vessel for billions of other people like her. Billions of other people who has been cursed by being able to see the truth and having a voice to call out the wrong.
A lot of them are jailed, tortured and killed. Even if some of them are lucky enough to stay alive, they are drowned in the pit of humiliation and pushed to the pit of their own death. This is their form of justice and righteousness. The way of their heroes.
And them, they were just nothing like a bunch of villanous monsters destroying their piece. Rebels that would gobble up the calmness and serenity of metropolis. Individuals that should've just remained unheard, unseen, unborn.
But for this little girl's teary eyes, they are 'beautiful monsters'. The hope of their race. The dark loophole of the society's superficial light. And if being an abomination is a sin for their fraudulent rulers, she wouldn't be more willing to be a sinner.
